Actual KG of double axle clubman BJ trailer 14ft

Does anyone know the actual weight of this trailer rather than the capacity. The actual kg is never listed on websites. I assume its circa 600-700kg. Anyone know? Trying to establish what I can tow with my car....with my other car on the trailer.

it's easy enough to work out from the manufacturers brochure, just subtract the stated carrying capacity from the gross capacity to give trailer weight.

Unfortunately you will need to find an old BJT brochure as the clubman is not a current model.

I reckon 500 to 550 kg for a 14ft clubman.

Just found this ..... Lighter than I thought

Hmmm that's interesting....coz I know each of my axles is rated for1200kg so would that mean the trailer is possibly heavier than a trailer with axles rated at 920kg? For some reason I have 650kg in my mind. Also I'm sure the whole thing is rated up to 3500kg. I would go check but I store it 10 miles away and the weather is minging! Guess the only way to be sure is I'll call BJ tomorrow.

3500kg is a big old rig!
i have a fountain covered twin axle tiltbed now, 600kg unladen. 2000kg max. and its pretty big. fits the radical, spare wheels/tyres, tools, spares, etc around 19' long.

If your axles are rated at 1200kg each, then your trailer is 2400kg gross.

Correction!

If each of your axles is 1200kg each you cannot have a gross of more than 2400kg.

Its very rare for the max gross to be exactly the sum of the axles, as there are other limitations, and you will obviously never get perfectly even loading.

It's not rare at all, If you look under most brian james car transporters you will find the sum of the axles perfectly matches the gross plated capacity.

A 14ft clubman will be either 2000kg gross or 2600kg gross i.e 2 x 1000kg axles or 2 x 1300kg axles.
