Peugeot GTi engine in an Indy?????
I have been offered a good 1.9 GTi Peugeot engine for almost nowt but i'm duboiuse about putting it in an Indy as it's a transverse jobby. Has
anyone done a similar conversion, if so whats involved?

Some Sierra diesels had Peugeot engines. I think the Peugeot petrol and diesel engines are based on the same design, so it means there should be
comaptible gearboxes or at least adaptors for RWD. Might work?

Yeah i think it may be worth looking into a bit more. The peugeot gti engine is a seriouse bit of kit and would make the Indy really fly!

Pug GTi RWD 'box ?
Right, this is at least 3nd hand info so it may or may not be true
The Pug GTi engine has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the PSA diesel engine used in the newish LDV Pilot van.
Its said that if you obtain a bellhousing from the above mentioned van it'll bolt on to a Rover SD1 gearbox and that'll bolt straight up to the GTi
engine.
Must admit though, if it was me, I'd go for the Mi16 engine
