Advice needed, possible Duratec MK for sale!

Good evening chaps,

I am currently in abit of a pickle and wanted people's advice.

I have had for about a year now a MK seven which has a lot of time money spent on it.

I would really like to start entering into the westfield sprint series or similar but wanted abit of advice.

What would a nicely spec'd MK seven be worth?

If I threw another batch of money at it am I going to see any real increase In this figure?

Or am I better to sell up and put the money onto a westfield or caterham?

The car is fantastic and engine is pure brilliance with so much future potential, I just want to have a long term view on things.

Current spec is as follows;

MK Seven registered and Iva'd in 2007.
About 2,500-3000 miles only!
Mot and tax for at least 6months.
Full re-spray last year.

Full Mk race cage with side bars fitted 6 months ago.
Live rear axle with 4.1 diff.
Brand new front wishbones last year.
All new Pro-tech dampers and springs re-valves at pro-comp to suit car.
Full geo set up and corner weighted at pro comp.
Standard rear drums.
Hi-spec R114-4 race calipers and disks 275mm
Ferodo ds3000 pads
Wilwood master cylinders
OBP pedal box with biased adj.

2.0 Duratec engine.
Cylinder head lightly ported with a head skim.
ARP head bolts.
GSXR throttle bodies with fensport manifold.
Omex 600 ecu.
Set up and rolling roaded at Northampton Motorsport.
190bhp and 154lb ft.

Standard type 9 box.
Quaife short shifter.
Heavy duty quaife straight cut box could be included also.

Brand new stack dials (oil pressure mechanical and electrical, water temp, fuel gauge, volts)
Brand new racetech speedometer and tachometer.
Custom made dashboard with fia kill switch. (Just waiting to be flocked)
Choice of 3 suede steering wheels.
Grp and carbon fibre seats with seals around edge and harness holes.
Passenger fixed, drivers on rails.
TRS 3" race harnesses.

Carbon fibre naca duct in nosecone.
Carbon fibre aero screen.
Black dominator 4" headlights with bulb upgrades.
Long acre mirror to cage.
Carbon fibre side mirrors.
Custom made rear diffuser to be fitted.
Brand new facet fuel pump.
Odyssey lightweight battery.
All blue silicone hoses in bay.
Fuel pressure regulater.
Fire extuisher

1 set of 13x7 team dynamics pro race et35 for road wrapped in toyo 888s.
1 set of 13x7 team dynamics pro race et20 for track wrapped in Dunlop slicks.
Both set of wheels purchased brand new.

There is also other oddments and parts, spare scuttle, nose cone, aero screen, naca ducts, old dashes, fog lights and lamps etc.

Way I see it is if it was a westfield it would be worth £12-15,000

But there are no other Mk's you see for sale with duratecs so I don't know what it's value would be!

Any help is much appreciated.

dan,get your national b license sorted join an associated club and enter a sprint. you dont need to enter wscc series.there are many others with competative classes.we do www.speedchampionship.co.uk with liverpool mc. blyton is on our calender in july so it should give you time to sort out all your lisence and safety gear. dont sell the mk until you are 100% sure you want an all out sprint car as the difference between road/track and sprint is massive. please pm me if you want any more info as it would be good to get a few more lcb members sprinting other than the usual handful. me,unijacko 67 and gord r will be doing plenty in the northern/midlands are this year

Dont take this the wrong way westfields are well built but if you just want something to hang carbon bits on fine if you want to win the mk had the edge and would have been a competative car with more power

I've purchased Mark Leborne's race prepared Seiw, it has had a lot of success and a really impressive spec list.

I've done blyton in the Mk so will book In the westy and see how they compare.
