Duraflex steering rack clamps?
Anyone used these instead of the usual alloy or steel versions?
Dodgy? Waste of time? Why would you? Opinions please?

I assume there is a steel bit to go over the top?
If not you might as well hold the rack on with a couple of rubber bands.

Nope, that's in place of everything that'd normally be there.
I presume they're a very stiff nylon, but I know what you're saying

"exceptional resistance to tear"
So they can tear then.. I would not be happy with that..

But it is exceptional, which is better than good
Is there an advantage anyone can think of? They'd put less stress on the surrounding rack mount / chassis maybe because they'll flex if
they get a big hit?

For our sort of cars, I'd be using a solid machined aluminium rack clamp, to get rid of the flexible bit (the bush), not getting rid of the
steel bracket and making it all flexible!

Fair enough. I've got 3 choices so I'm after different opinions

I tried these, they don't really work. You still have to use part of the rubber bush between the rack and chassis mounts. Changed to solid alloy
ones instead.
