Wilwood caliper mounts
Hi all,
I'm after a bit of help. I have been to fit some new pads to my mk indy that has the wilwood calipers on the front, when everything is back
together, wheel on etc the front wheels are locked solid. On closer inspection the discs aren't central of the caliper and i noticed the caliper
mounting holes are slightly offset.
I was just wondering if anyone could see what there mount is like and if these have been machined wrong maybe

Did you change anything else? Was it all fine before?
Are there different pad options for solid/vented discs?

No haven't changed anything else. It was fine before but the inner pad has a hell of a lot more wear than the outer pad, i would understand this
on a normal caliper but not a 4 pot. They we a direct cross reference to the pads that were in 🤔

Just checked on rally nuts about the pads reference the soild/vented disc and it recommends the same pad, real head scratcher this one

Yeah solid or vented discs won't alter the pads,that is done with a wider caliper.
How much offset are you talking?
Are the brackets wilwood,or DIY job?
Pics needed really fir anyone to offer a decent answer

They look like a DIY bracket?
Two choices depending which way your offset is wrong,either machine the bracket down or get spacers made up to move it out.

Yes it has which is baffling me more as it is a 4 pot caliper. Could expect it from a single pot etc.
I'm thinking the pad may have been trimmed maybe to make them fit as that is what would need to be done as a quick fix but i want it right.
Its like the caliper sit a couple of mm too far out, if the mounting holes on the mount were central then that would solve the problem. I was
wondering if anyone else had this kit fitted to see if these were machined wrong as i don't think they are a DIY job

Are both brackets the same?
So the pads don't sit straight in the caliper either if one hole is off centre?

Yes both are the same, both position the caliper too far out, hence the inner pad been thinner.
The pads fit in but when the wheel is all bottled on the wheel wont move as the pad it tight up to the disc

It could be that the brackets have been fitted on the wrong side of the car. It looks like the offset is designed to center the disk in the
caliper.
If they are on the wrong side then you would have 2 x the offset in the wrong direction.
Don't know if that is what is going on, but worth a try before getting into re-machining brackets or shaving pads.

Cheers Mike, i have checked the other side, same thing unfortunately and they cant be switched over as the holes for the bolts to the hub are
countersunk

Hi,
I would give Rally Design a call.
A long time ago, there was a duff set of mounting spacers made.
I purchased my midilites, 1144 pads and new discs in a group buy from this forum, and when I finally went to fit the pads, they did not fit.
They were for a Sierra conversion for my Fury which I was building at the time.
I gave them a call and they owned up straight away and sent a new pair of mounting spacers.
They thought they had caught all of the wrong ones.
Maybe you have another pair of duff ones.

If they are handed then you should be able to swap sides which should switch the holes but retain the countersunk side out.
