Will anyone be at MK this Saturday?

Hi everyone,

Will anyone be at MK this Saturday? After literally years of planning a build, I've settled on the Indy, either Zetec or Vx 16V powered, and am planning a trip over to MK on Saturday to have a ganders around.

Just need to sell my Impreza now to liberate some cash....

Theres usually a few of us at MK on a Saturday morning so you should have a good selection of Indys to look around.

Despite you having settled on a CEC, at least come with an open mind and have a blast in a BEC.

Not that there's anything wrong with the Zetec , Vx 16V or Pinto.

a chap said on here a while ago and I totally agree

" why anyone even bothers with car engines when you can fit bike power now is beyond me"

you just dont get the buzz you get of a bike engine or the noise I heard OX's busa go up the road last night and all I can say is

have you been in a bec mate I went in hellfire a couple of saturdays back and I poo myself we went round a bend at I THINK 100+mph I promise you i thought I was going to die

BUT the car and driver made it effortlessly..

THEN THE BEND WENT THE OTHER WAY

so I tripple poo my self(even though there was no need)

chris

Never been in a BEC. Driven Westfields and Caterhams (with car engines). What's always put me off about a bike engine is the lack of reverse. Where I live we're surrounded by lots of lanes, quite a few are single track and short of coughing up a load of dosh for a reversing box, the novelty of getting out to push the thing backwards everytime I meet a tractor or combine coming the other way might wear off quite quickly

Make the tractors and combine harvesters reverse. Afterall, they DO have a reverse gear. Just cos they're bigger than you doesn't mean they're harder.

Or better still, just drive underneath.

I live in a similar type of rural area, and honestly you will not be driving down that sort of road very often, you will be looking for nice B roads, good surfaces, twisty and turny with ideally a bit of visibilty. You cannot drive round one track roads very quickly for long without connecting with a tractor/cow/sheep etc, and you can't drive a BEC slow for long!!
Seriously don't let a lack of reverse put you off.

Only time I ever wanted a reverse was HERE
