Clutch Cable Problem
All,
My clutch cable has snapped twice in the last 6 month, each time a brand new cable was used. It is snapping at the point it attaches to the clutch
pedal.
Can anyone please offer any advice as its such a pig to fix each time.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi, we had the same problem initially. Make sure the pedal is pulling the cable cleanly in a straight plane, and not pivoting around where its
attatched to the pedal.

yep, as above, make sure that the cable is free to rotate at the clutch pedal end. If not they wil snap very quickly.
throttle cables do exactly the same.

cable from mac#1.use a bolt and nyloc nut to attatch the cable to the pedal, not doing the nut up too tight so the cable is free to move.

Just to add to Mac1ZR's explanation. The pedal end connection looks like a banjo fitting. The bolt thro its centre (left slack) allows the cable
to keep a straight path through the chassis hole when the pedal is pressed.
IIRC mac#1 supplied the banjo type fitting seperately. The clutch cable std end being replaced with it (secured with 2 grub screws).

Or you could use a pull rod clutch

except you have to have the engine and gearbox solidly mounted to do that!

Mine is solid mounted but I guess the pivot could be mounted to the engine / bell housing which should allow for some movement.
