Brian James Minno trailer?

I've measured the car and it appears to fit (just) but before I buy one does anyone know for sure if an Indy will fit on a Brian James minno trailer?

I borrowed a Minno to take my Indy to get it's exhaust made.

It was OK length wise. Width wise, I am running 14" wheels with 185 tyres and it just went on. Took a couple of goes up the ramp to "get the wheels in line"! Once there it was snugg with the rails touching the tyre walls.

After a there and back trip of 20 miles, I couldn't see any damage to the tyre walls, but the side rails had definately changed colour, from a galv to polished!

So, providing you're not running massive offsets or 17" tyres you should be OK.

If it doesn't fit I might take it off your hands!!

these are a fantastic trailer, just double check the width, the sierra track is quite wide.
My Indy fits on my trailer with about 1/2" either side (not a brian james one though) so getting on takes a bit of practice. Loads of room front to back though

When I bought a new trailer last year to transport my indy,I found the mino to be only a 5'5" bed ,so was not wide enough for the Indy, you may just get one on,but the tyres/wheels will rub on the, mushroom bolt heads on the inside of the bed channel, this results in damage to your alloys, the best option is to go for a 5' 7" bed, this gives you a 1" either side, which is just about the minimum you can get away with, even then you have to be carefull loading. The brian james clubman is 5' 7" wide but these are a lot larger in overal size, and more expensive.
Have you looked at woodford trailers, they all worked for brian james then they set up there own company a few years ago, they are great quality,I bought my trailer for £750 last year, they built it to my spec,5'7" wide bed,10' long just right for my mk,they come with spare wheel, hitch lock,he even threw in a set of wheel straps, well please with it.

Woodford Trailers

When I collected my Velocity (in a part built state) I hired a trailer from Woodford trailers. It was a fantastic piece of kit and very well built - and they are very helpfull there as well.

They seem quite a bit cheaper than Brian James and equally as good(or better!). I used to have a Minnow for shifting my mini around and it appeared a fair bit heavier than the Woodford trailer and most things I needed for it were optional extras which did not seem the case when speaking with the guys at Woodford - wish I had found them before I bought from Brian James

Thanks all. These trailers go for about £1-1.2k second hand but it sounds like a real tight fit.

I looked at the Woodford website prices but I hadn't seen any for sale s/h. However, it sounds like I better call them for a proper deal. Does an 11ft long Indy really fit on a 10ft trailer? That saves a few quid if it does.

Hi,
I've a 2 wheel Brian James 'A' Series trailer with a 6'1'' x 11'0'' bed - ideal for Locost type vehicles.
I'd accept £750 for it if it may be of interest?

They fit perfect on a ten foot bed, both myself and "mk blade" use the same size trailers,MK themselves also have a couple of these trailers.

How about a towing dolly? They are cheaper and smaller than a full trailer, also would be easier to store. Has anyone tried this method of towing instead?

Towing Dollys are a good option, but remember a car on a dolly needs to be taxed and insured - not great for a track day only/sprint/hillclimb machine.

towing dollys are only actually legal for recovery, and speed is limited to 40mph on motorways and dual carriageways, and 20mph everywhere else.

I think I need a bigger garage or a smaller car. I'm gonna try and borrow/rent a 5'7" wide trailer from someone and see if it fits. Anyone in the Cheshire/Manchester area got one I can try for size?
