GT1 At Binbrook

Hi all
It was wet, windy and cold. Sometimes but not allways at the same time! We set off at 7.15am and made it with loads of time to spare, unloaded the car and went inside for a warm. The place is a bit of a mess what with aggregate contractors tearing up parts of the runway but it was pretty well run and the atmosphere was relaxed. Briefing over and time to get the GT1 on the track. It ran fine for a few laps then started missfiring, not surprising really as there was a lot of muddy water about (see pics). Jon stood it till dinner time as it was only missing when going round right hand bends. We stripped the bodywork off and eventually traced the problem to one of the wires into the ECU. Taped up and fingers crossed it was time to out again. Jon gave a couple of the marshalls a ride and then out on his own for what seemed like ages. We had to black flag him to get him to come in!!
All the fuel used and it was time for home.
Typical, when we get back the sun is out and the roads are bone dry.
Did Jon get on with the car? Well, come and see him at a circuit near you very soon!!!!

mmmm, pretty much sums it up, if there are any budding rallyx drivers out there buy a GT1 because they handle pretty well on the wet slippy stuff and have the legs of a 6R4!!!! wich in the conditions we had can't be too bad,

1) Can't thank Martin & Chris enough for today, every time i tried to get near the car to fix the missfire i had there two bodys in the way.

2) The black flag incident was a little unfair, there was 2 laps worth of petrol left.

3) Visibilty aint too good when the muds flying.

4) It was take out the cone, the metal sign or into the muddy field, i chose the cone, pretty sure Chris as a pic of this, sorry Martin.

5) Anyone thinking bout buying a GT1 ? DO ITthey drive a dream, stop on a sixpence, turn in like you never felt a 7 do and all this on a very wet track with a covering of mud, and considering the conditions i was pretty dry in the car with little to no wind buffeting.

6) Thanks again, registration in post.

Jon
