Cycle wing brackets again!
Rant!
I've just done the first bend on the first bracket and I just know its crap already!
I'm using MK brackets and the old style wings, without the bulges, Well I think I am , at the moment I feel like burning the lot already and
getting some that fit from somehere if they exist
The tyres are 195 50 15 and are about 8" wide, the wings are only 9" wide, is it ever going to work?
The tube part doesnt seem to come high enough either, meaning that the wings have to be higher than I would prefer (see pic).
And I would like a closer radius to the tyre to , but thats another story
OK rant over, but any suggestions or tips gratefully recieved.
Do Dax sell wings and brackets to fit Sierra uprights and 15" wheels?
Thanks, I feel better now

You could always call MAC1 and order some of their wings and stays, I did and it took me all of and hour to fit both!!

See if I can find any pics of my brackets. I got the same size of tires and it wasn´t that hard and it looks really good.

I made a right pigs ear of my cycle wing fitment, and then tried to refit again and then again then gave up.
I got the first bend completely wrong and in the end had to make up spacers to fit inbetween the wing and stay, they git me through SVA and are still
on the car two years later though so its strong enough.
I'm plannning to get the new style MK wings which are like shorties MAC1 version, they even look easier to fit and you can use the exsisting wing
bracket.
They fit to the side of the wing so no fidling and bending, well not as much

do the new style arches have the pockets in different places on the wing on either side? i know for sure my brackets were completely different, so if
they're not, the wings won't fit.
dax arches fit really well on the mk brackets, but being so much better quality (read heavier) the flat/round interface needs gussetting, or
it'll snap in double quick time. the proper dax brackets fasten onto the hub adaptor afaik.

Jonte, you appear to have a piece of wood and a socket stuck in your tyre.
Make sure you carefully remove them before travelling any further.

Bob: I too have a pigs ear and knakered one so plan B
Chris: You cheated! That does seem like what they need, a longer flat bit ande a shorter round bit.
Indykid: I've only got one bracket now so they're out No prices on their website either.
Jonte: you done a super job, exactly like they should be but mine would not work like that, cant understaand how you made it look so easy

i bent my brackets at a straight 90 degrees for the mk arches, but then thought balls to that, and used oxy to flatten them out again and ordered the
dax cycle wings.
i then got some tin and made a pattern of the curve of the underside of the wing, and then used oxy again and a number 10 nozzle to bend it to shape.
warmed the tubes up and kicked them in towards the wheel too, so it all sits close, not just the actual wing.
the original o/s one got mashed in the crash anyway, so i've got it to do again, along with a pair of new cycle wings. bloody joy.

The one in the first picture looks the wrong way round.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I mean it looks like the legs on the stay are the wrong way round, sorry. Like if the piece in the middle was welded in the wrong orientation with the
short leg to the back.

I think you could be right?
I've not ordered any today, thought i'd have one more try, but its not looking hopeful and that could be why?
Cheers
