Let down by MK

Well not really MK but their exhaust manifold supplier…(I usually get great service from MK!) after a bit of measuring up on my ZX12r engine I worked out that if I could get a R1 manifold in kit form I could weld it up to fit the kawa engine. Not a problem said MK just send the cheque down, which I did that very day. After four weeks and a couple of promises that it was on its way I get told today that I have to take my car down to MK or get my money back! Getting the car down from Scotland is not an option. All I need to get the car going again is this manifold!

Sooo.. does anyone know anyone in the central Scotland area who can bend up a stainless manifold?? I have access to a Tig welder so its just the bending I need

is it worth just buying a load of dairy bends as some have done? otherwise i gather that simpsons can supply bends as I asked them about this when I was there, they supply a few sports car manufacturers with bits to spec.

cheers,

Ned.

he might not have the time so ....

on NS Dev's behalf (without consulting him but in the official capacity of mechanic #1 to NS Dev racing team).

Damned good service!

(mechanic #1 means i drive the support car, lump stuff around and cook the food on the BBQ)

your correct the R1 header Mk supply do fit the ZX12R I did this last week, I'm sure Baz can get you some & post them. the ones I had were allready welded up which i was disapointed about but it ended up being even better.
All we did was make a plate drilled to the template of the heads fitted the header to the plate got the header cherry red & cooled & they kept the shape I wanted, polished them up & fitted them they look great & they were haft price of a set of custom made.

Well in the post today arrived… A beautiful 4 –2 –1 system from … MK!

Got a phone call after I posted on here last week from MK saying they would get a system up to me ASAP…so all power to the locostbuilders web site! … manufactures DO look at it and most of all DO respond.

So all power to MK. - Top Blokes.

I think everyone (including myself!) has to remember that these companies are supplying what is actually bespoke items at very reasonable prices. I am sure if they put the word “motorsport” in front of everything they could charge twice the price!

Glad you got it sorted.
