Bruntingthorpe this weekend
Got a track day sorted at Bruntingthorpe this weekend. First one ever
Anybody got any advise on what kit I should take (e.g. engine oil, spare fuel etc). The car is being trailered, so I have plenty of spare space.
Also what do people think of Bruntingthorpe for a Noobie? Anything specific to look out for?
Cheers
Martin

I'll be there (yellow tiger). I 've driven there before. It is hard on tyres but there is loads of run off everywhere so ideal for first
timers. One point to note is that there is no petrol on site and the nearest petrol station is several miles away. Just get on, take it easy and learn
the circuit before you nail it. Don't worry about being slow, just enjoy it.
see you there

Lots of petrol would be handy. I usually take the following (much of which is pretty obvious):
Brake fluid, water, oil, tool kit. tyre pump with gauge, latex gloves, overalls (just in case), jack, old rag and kitchen paper. If you have an oil
catch tank, it may be worth taking an oil syringe in case it fills up (unless it has a drain at the bottom).
If all goes well, you won't need to use any of these.
I also check all the suspension nuts the day before. They're probably fine, but it's worth checking for peace of mind. (The last time I
found a loose nut on my rear wishbone.)

I will also on that trackday (tommorrow) just as long as my car will pass the 97db they are letting me check it in the morning before paying.
It will be my first trackday as well, JUD you will be able to spot me as I also will be in a Red/Black MK Indy
Hope to see you both in Morning

Well that will be two of us in red and black MKs.
Pat Jackson runs the track days for BigThunder - he was telling me that it is a busy day with a lot of BECs turning up. Should be interesting.
I will arriving around 10:30 (post rush).
See you there.

Well, Bruntingthorpe was bloody brilliant.
Really excellent day - open pit meant you could drive for about 6 hours if you felt like it. I ended up doing over 100 miles.
Also the noise limit check is a bit ad-hoc. Andrew (Magnum) registered 102 and was told to go easy at the bottom end of the circuit - happened to be
the slowest corner, so no issues. Nobody actually tested me at all.
Only had one brief excursion onto the grass... which probably contributed to the front offside cycle wing working loose . Nothing major.
If anybody is thinking of a track day, all I can say is DO IT!
Andrew - did your rigged throttle cable get you home?
Next one with Big Thunder is end of Sept.

I also had a great day and think it was a good deal at 100 quid.
Yes Martin the cable ties held and I made it home with the fixed throttle cable just need to find a new one now.
already looking forward to my next track day
