fuel questions
hello again
few of questions to do with the fuel side of things.
1) fuel sender, I take it it's mounted on top as that where a lot of photos I've seen seem to show it. Does it matter what
manufacturer's you use as I'm no where near choosing guages yet so can you use any sender with any guages, any info on manufacturers of
sender you guys have used much appreciated.
2) fuel pipe, reading the threads most of you seem to of used copper pipe for the majority of the run then used normal fuel pipe at the ends. Why is
this? wouldn't it be easier just to run purpose fuel pipe from tank to engine? if using copper what method do you use to put a lip on each end
for the fuel pipe to fit over with a jubilee clip to stop it popping off?
last question, is the distance between clipping fuel pipe the same as break lines so less than 300mm spacing for p clips for SVA?
As ever thanks for taking the time to read these and provide me with answers as I'm keen to finish off all the pipe runs and move onto something
else

not all senders and gauges speak the same voltages, so you need to pick the right ones. There are undoubtedly gadgets out there to convert signals,
but its an avoidable expense.
Copper in the middle, rubber at the ends, because its easier to use rubber to join the parts (ie 8mm i.d. rubber hose goes over both the copper and
the tank outlet etc) plus has more flex.
Im guessing that 8mm copper can be flared with a brake pipe flarer. If not, maybe use an 8mm olive and a compression fitting to squeeze it on. Im not
sure you even really need a lip, after all, for carbs its around 7psi, so not that much.

Hi,
I hope you don't mind me jumping in here jabbahutt but I have the same question about fuel sender's. More specifically I am looking for a
dip type sender with 100 ohm resistance which is what my Acewell dash needs. Obviously I want it as cheap as possible because I believe these things
can be quite steep.
Cheers,
Craig.
