rear hub brake pipes

what is the easiest and most reliable way to bend the short copper brake pipes for the rear hub without kinking them? My brake pipe bender won't create bends tight enough.
I've heard of bending around a socket but if anyone can provide a bit more info on how to create the tight bends without knackering the pipe I'd be really grateful.

Cheers

It requires patience and a strong thumb to bend them as the manual,I think donut put his through the upright as a short cut/easier way.Have a look through his pictures. And remember the more you keep altering your bends the harder the pipe becomes until you cant bend it anymore.
I did mine like this.
