OK Basic thicko question time
OK
Old Sierra shed - Check
Loads of tools blagged of someone emigrating for SFA - Check
Now the conundurm
Would the MK Indy be happy shovelling in someone 6'4" and slightly north of 19 stone (though thankfully not weeble shapped)?
On top of that, having a general search on google images e.t.c, normal windscreens don't seem that common. Is there a specific reason for that
(i.e the normal Robin Hood/Locost/Caterham screen won't mount easily) or just its the preferred look for an Indy.
The other I've noticed is a lack of wet weather gear. Is it again just a case of preferred choice rather than something preventing it (i.e the
windscreen not fittable).
I'm planning on having a windscreen and full weather gear ( I can make the hood my self I suspect as I've been working with leather e.t.c
for years). Afterall the nipper will only wear goggles a few times when being driven to school, let alone the dog :-)

well I'm 6ft 4in and over 19 stone and I fit no problem!
windscreen is just personal choice as is wet weather gear.
If you are good with leather there is def a market for wet weather gear for all sevens inc the indy, not many people doing it.

The Indy is pretty generous in the cockpit dimensions. But you may prefer to use a bench style seat rather than a fibreglass bucket seat dependant on
your overall dimensions.
No reason not to fit a windscreen and weather gear to an Indy. It's just that MK themselves don't offer them as an option / part AFAIK.
Mangogrooveworkshop on here makes them to fit though, so that's OK.
See here for details

Most people don't fit them, as it adds another level of complication for SVA test, wipers, washers, bottles, motors, wiring, heater / demister
system etc etc, more sharp edges etc.
No reason not to retro fit post SVA.
Hope that helps

6ft6 and the right side of 19st o)
Just about fit, with Cobra seats, hard fixed (ie no runners) - foam fitted seat would obviously give more room, but look scruffy!
Had to get a higher roll bar made up.
Hoping to look into (& out of!) a screen for next season

Thanks to you all. Looks like an MK may well be the plan. Espesh as they are not too far from Leicester.
Someone else mentioned that you can go over to their place and have a sit in on a Saturday. Is this Saturdays only or any day of the week by pre book,
does anyone know?
I'm going to make a set of wet weather gear for it so that certainly will end up as plans on a build diary/web site when done.
I think the idea of post SVA windscreen may well be a plan. I'm going to go the full demister e.t.c anyway, under the premis that if its thought
of as important enough on the SVA then its brddy important in reality compared to many mod cons that are not required.

You are welcome to have a sit in mine. I have Cobra seats on runners, if it saves a trip up to Sheffield (MK).
No weather gear though ;-)
Don't forget, it't Donnington show in 3 weeks, you'll get to have a sit in plenty there too.....

Yeah that would be cool. Yours doesn't happen to be the car that occasionally gets parked next to the KFC in St Georges retail park at all?

Just turn up at MK on any day of the week and they'll happily show you around and let you try a couple of Indy's out for size.
Saturday is generally a better day though cos there's usually a few cars turn up to look around and passenger rides to be had

Most dont bother with wet weather gear as the car is almost impossible to get in with it fitted and very cramped. I suspect you would find even
sidescreens a pain. My Indy has a screen and I made some sidescreens for motorway trips, other than that get some water proofs for the odd time you
get caught out and drive in the dry. It all gets a bit of a handful driving a powerful ish 7 in the wet.
