Engine conversion complete!!
Finally Finished!!
Hi,
just though i would post a few pics of the fazer conversion from my pinto. Just in time for tom to be 17!!!
Big thanks to Jacko for his welding and endless bits and bobs! and also to
Andy W for modifiying the exhaust can!
Just to tax it and then give it a good shakedown

Thats more like it Tim,you must have had a bump on the head to even think about fitting a pinto in,after having the 929 blade,I do like those MAC1
screens,and the cold air feed to the air box in the side of the bonnet is a nice touch,and make sure your Tom takes it easy when he gets behind the
wheel.

Looks a very tidy install, well done. Is that a car battery in the engine bay? Maybe time for a bike battery and a useful bit of weight loss.

Hi Tim - Tom am glad i could help it,s a nice fitting engine with the original air fillter without any mods

Looks like i've just lost my Self aclaimed title of being the Youngest and fastest at the Yorkshire goup (goes with my first to spin at
Elvington trophy!)
Unless were avin a 6K rpm limit
Will have to settle for the Loudest Tin-top award instead

When we had overheating problems on our engine, removing the thermostat was something we looked into doing as a possible cure. However, after having
read lots of info on the subject we decided against removing it. Afterall, it is there for a reason.
Removing the thermostat can cause more problems than it solves. With the stat removed, the coolant flows quicker around some parts of the
engine than others which means it can actually cause it to run hotter because it spends less time in the radiator cooling.
Also, when you're running during the colder months, the lack of a thermostat will allow coolant to flow through the radiator and the engine may
struggle to get up to its optimum temperature, thereby increasing the potential for premature engine wear.
If you're having issues with the running temperature, look at other ways to solve the problem but don't remove the thermostat IMHO.

Tim,
A couple of things.
I would junk the Kleen air system just take it off and blank up the exhaust maifold holes with bolts/copper wasers.
also the R1 theromstat works well the Faser if you think you need it
(tis a good engine the faser!)
