Eh? you are pumping water into your header tank then out to your weber. That don't make sense, where does the petrol go?
I think I'm missing something here, as usual.

Hi all,
Can anyone briefly describe the cooling pipe routes. i think i'm at a similar stage to Mad-butcher.'got my volvo header tank and an inline
fan thermo with a mk supplied metro rad'. webers. Is lower or upper outlet return etc.
Thanks

Sorry lads no pics as no digi cam,but if you contact andy (donut) he should be able to post a few pics.
I'm using the MK 2 escort rad at the moment it has been sealed at the filler, pipes are bottom hose to water pump and top hose to thermostat
housing with switch fo rfan inbetween.
Other small pipe on thermo house is blocked off and 1/2 inch pipe from water pump goes to header tank and the outlet from the tank goes to the carbs
where it feeds into the block before being pumped round again.
Hope this helps.

The pipe from the water pump to the header tank, does it go in the top or bottomof the tank? If it goes in the top then the water can circulate back
out into the inlet mannifold (Paul-this is ok...it goes through to the head!) If it goes in the bottom the water can't get out the top outlet
pipe unless the tank is nearly full.
What way are you doing it?

Hmm, interesting discussion at exactly the right time for my build :-)
I too have a micra radiatior and i sourced an expansion tank from something in the scrappy that would look nice on the bulkhead. The plan was that
the expansion would push water into the expansion tank out of the 'overflow' by the radiator cap. Is this correct?
Additionally, I'm now concerned about my plan to just block off the heater supply/return. Is there a need for water circulation arround this or
is blocking off ok?
confused.
