Woohoo got an engine
So much for dragging my build out until next march. It seems to be storming along with very little time or effort.
I was planning on getting the car ready for the engine around Jan time but an engine out of a megablade came up on WSCC last week so I popped over to
get it.
Complete engine '94 year, stainless manifold, stainless Westfield can, air box, sausage filter, ready altered loom ready to drop in. Engine also
has the baffle plate, prop adapter, uprated regulator thingy and performance leads too. The nice guy also threw in the choke cable, workshop manual
and the westfield build manual.
Got my correct diff arriving this week. Just need to sort my prop out now.
I better put scarf and hat on my xmas list so I can use it asap lol.

I paid £600 for it which I thougt was a fair price considering Westfield prices for manfolds and exhausts.
Is the prop a simple case of sending mine away with a generic mod or will I need to know the specs and lengths to tell them what to do to it?

Yes the prop is easy to get modified, just had mine done.
You'll need to know the lenght of the prop shaft and the diameter of your adaptor flange, normally 2 different sizes 109mm ford and there is a
smaller one more generlly used for BECs.
You'll need to ask for a slider joint and universal joint, I paid £60 for mine fitted and balanced to my Sierra Prop. Though you may want to
consider a TRT Shaft.

The Westfield exhaust system (so I have been told by Holeshot Racing) holds back the performance of the engine.
There are a few Westfield lads that have been to MK for a replacement exhaust system.
Holeshot had a standard 'busa engined Westy with Westy exhaust system which only developed 120 bhp due to poor design...
Nothing to do with me - but just 'cos it is expensive doesn't mean it's well designed.

shot.

for £600 for a complete setup I don't think a poorly performing exhaust is too bad. It will still be pretty fast. great bargain!!
Saying that - if you fancy getting some cash for that exhaust it will do me fine - as I aint after every horsepower I can get, and would be happy with
a cheap solution.
PM with a price for it mate - if its reasonable you will have a sale.cash waiting and all that.

If I was doing it again, or when I take it down next, I would definatly invest on a TRT propshaft and save the gearbox from some stress, if it's
not already gone

Thats great news mate, oh and as others have said get a TRT prop (and a decent exhaust, but only if you can afford it)!

In addition to my previous post - Westfield Megablade's are generally quieter - may be that is due to the exhaust/system . Afterall, as a
general rule of thumb the quieter the exhaust the lower the power... not sure if it is relative but an observation.
It is still a decent bargain provided it's not been over abused...
