In need of a 'new' Indy bonnet in Orange

Hey guys, I need a new bonnet for my indy in Orange. The one i have has the old exhaust cut outs in it.
Problem is MK dont really want to deliver and i'm living a long way down south.

Anyone from Cornwall up to the bristol/cardiff area across to dorset got one, or know if another will fit/can be made locally?

Any help would be great as I really dont fancy the drive!!! over 3.5 hours each way

Yeah, they'd also like £50 to box it up....
In theory thats less than the fuel. But it sounded like i'd be taking resposibility for the condition it arrived in.

Does anyting else fit the MK chassis?

I'd imagine for the price of a new bonnet plus delivery etc etc you'd be more economic fibreglassing up the hole by yourself and getting a professional outfit to fill/rub and spray the whole bonnet to match. It's doubtfull that a new bonnet colour would match anyways.

If you can wait I'm going to be getting my chassis kit delivered or I'll be collecting near the end of feb and I'm only in Bristol. Maybe I could get it for ya and you get it from me.

This is of course if there's room, cos I'm getting alot of stuff from them.

Hey Mark, thanks for that offer, I may well take you up on that if you have space.
I'm also tempted to have it filled but that seems quite a bit of work.

How come its unlikely to match? It cant have seen that much light to fade it surely?

Its got a carb hole on one side and an exhaust hole on the other, i also think the airbox hole could be neater as its an extension of an older hole...

its not that it would be hard to match due to it fading. Its because paint is usually made up by hand from the raw colours. Unless you have the panel there to match it can be very difficult and could be slightly different.

To be honest, for the price of the bonnet and having it sprayed you may be better off getting a job done on yours...

Or the ultimate lowcost temporary soloution, which we used with great effect.

Spray the shiny side of a cornflakes box black and then tape it on the inside of the hole lol, Being a contrasting colour it doesn't look all that bad from a distance!

That is the temporary solution already in place... but i'd like it perfect for the summer.

I'll have a look at gettin it repaired locally first...
