Awwwww crap!

Track day today and as usual it always happens when it's after uttering the words 'lets have one last session'.

So, 5th lap and the bonnet starts to flap front offside corner on a long straight at 100+ MPH, split second later and bye bye bonnet!
Very high cross winds today but it looks like the front offside catch has perished slightly causing the failure.

Bonnet landed safely infront of an Exige, hee hee that must have been a bit of a shock for him! It's in 1 piece with very minor scratches to the gel coat, as the saying goes, it'll polish out.

Shame as the Indy was really on the pace today, corner weighting was the best £300 I've ever spent, plus the new aeroscreen worked well and the new airbox & cold air feed got my static test down to 95 db from 99 db.

Still at least I fared better than a K series engined Caterham which threw a rod at full chat.

Track Developments, they're near Castle Coombe. Dialled out the bump steer as well, took pretty much a full day but well worth every single penny.

Linky

Same happened to me, except that a lorry ran over it. I collected the fragments out of the road and posted one off saying "can I have another one in this colour please?"
