Side Panels
I have noticed a while ago that the GRP side panels i got from MK, are cut short before the suspension. Is this right? As i have seen in a lot of
build diaries, people cutting the holes out, including the which kit build diary. Im not sure how this will look, of if it has any affect on the
SVA.
If any one who as bought a kit in the last 3 months could tell me if they have the same. Or if i will have any problems.
Thanks
Chris

Mine were made to fit all the way to the nose cone with holes cut for the wishbones etc. I think MK have changed to the shorter design as you have, I
think Westfield do the same. Probably easier to make.

Mines not an indy but I stopped my panel at the fu1 and 2 section because I saw the aggro when you do anything to the steering rack. It also lets air
flow better I think. It passed SVA 3 years ago so it's not a problem there.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I got my kit at the beginning of August and I have the short panels. Much easier to fit IMHO.
Cheers,
Matt.
P.S. SVA on Friday - fingers crossed please!

Matt,
Your car looks amazing, best of luck with the SVA. Tell me are those mirrors 'E' marked, and if so where abouts did you get them?
All the best for Friday,
Ali

I'm going to Avonmouth SVA - Soton is my local but until recently I'd only heard bad things about them, although in the last few days
I've heard people saying they're really nice!
The mirrors are not e marked, and unfortunately they have flat glass so I'm not sure they will give the necessary field of view to pass SVA,
we'll see ;-) I think they came from Car Builder Solutions.
There are some points on the car that I know should fail (front indicator position, non-radiused edges on headlamp mountings, front suspension, and
the curved part of the side panel over the rear arch, and probably emissions), but I'm hoping some or all of these might get through anyway. If
not I should be able to fix them on the day with foam / gaffer tape!
Thanks for the nice comments,
Matt.

I hope the SVA man dosnt read this forum or else he will already have your check list filled in when you get there.
All the best for Friday, and let us know how you get on.

Matt Good luck with the SVA,
You'll have to bring your car to the southampton area meeting when you passed( 1st time of course)
greggors84, I was speaking to PTM at Stafford show this year and the reason the panels are cut back is so that MK can make rolling chassis up, then do
the panelling.
All the best Dan.

I see, i did wonder why they changed it.
After seeing matts car, i am reassured that it doesnt make the indy look any worse.
Thanks
