From looking at the build manual picture it goes with the cap at the back next to the passenger.

Hmm i've got mine the other way, so when the lever is forward both input and output of the quaife turn the same way, ie forward

Had a long conversation with quaiffe
about this at the autosport show in January.
One end of the box (switch end) has a double
bearing, so is stronger. This should be
connected to the longest prop, in our case the
rear. However, they say, and have confirmed
to me, that the box is strong enough to be
mounted either way round!
Quaiffe have a tech support number.....

Very interesting, so having it the way they sugest would mean reverse would be lever forward.
one thing make sure you have a breather, or it's oil everywhere! i made one up with with a plumbing fixing from BQ. as per an old post by

Hi,
yes, it means the lever forward to go back,
and back to go forward.
I took my box out after talking to them but didn't
like the lever that far back. With the lever
at the front it's completely out of the way and has
to be pulled back to go back. It's only just possible
to reach it without releasing the belts.
When I turned it round, I felt the lever could
easily be knocked forward, It was almost where a
gear lever would be. Not something I fancy
happening at speed; at best a neutral, at worst......
I did look at moving the lever to the other end
of the box, but although the case is drilled the
shaft can not be turned round.
Given the choices, I'm leaving mine with the lever at the front

breather replaces orange cap on top
oil goes in big nut on side below breather
fill to bottom of hole.
make sure its the right oil though.
