probably easier just to take your tray with you when you want to buy a battery.

On this subject though, I'd be interested to know what's the best way to secure the battery to the scuttle tray?

The MK battery tray is made to fit the standard Sierra battery, which is a Type 063 (I think).

The easiest way for me was to fit 2 lengths of M5 studding between the battery tray and the MK fibreglass cover. The studding was fixed below the fibreglass through 2 large spreader washers.

The battery cover is now spare, as I've fitted a bike battery. This is held down using the same lengths of studding, but using a piece of aluminium L profile.

If you need any clarification, I can take a photo tomorrow.

Cheers

If you don't mind, that'd be handy. I have to attach my bike battery before long and I'm just not sure on the best way to go as the tray seems pretty flimsy.

My Indy's battery is in the boot, on the nearside and well strapped down to the chassis. I reckon there's enough weight at the front already and I don't trust fibreglass and 6mm studding to restrain it in the worst event!

My battery is only off a bike and doesn't weigh much, If I do get into an accident I think if the battery falls over it'll be the least of my worries.
