just a little blast down the road
hello every one well ive had my sump shortened in the indy last week and its now got good ground clearance
filled it up with oil today and drove it round the yard and to show off to the other guys in the workshops round the back as its nearly finnished,
just needs harnesses ,speedo healer and some headlights etc. So all ive done is drive it round the yard wich is a bit of a mess mainly hardcore and
concreate.
And i said to my pall id love to give it a blast up the country lane as its a mile long straight that my workshop is right at the beggining of. and
one of the guys shoutes out do u want to go out in it i have my trade plates with me ??
well all i can say i only took it steady in 2nd and 3rd and tunded it round and came back 6000 1st 8500 2nd and 9500 in 3rd and then got scared lol.
Its going to take some getting use to but i couldnt get rid of my smile all day oh and its the first thing ive driven for 7 months as i got banned 6
months ago and only got license back last week so it felt extra quick compaired to the old push rocket

not sure how the trade plates would have helped you if the rozzers had turned up? Don't think that's a risk i'd have taken
especially just off the back of a 6 month ban.

As I understand it, Trade Plates do not exempt you from an MOT, it is a transferable road tax, that is all. The vehicle still has to be MOTd and
insured. If you had been stopped by the police you might have racked up enough points to get banned again. It's likely the purchaser of the
plate would have been in trouble too.

Trade plates can be used by vehicle manufacturers for testing vehicles during or after construction, but only if the the plates were issued to them as
a manufacturer rather than a trader or repairer.
quote:
Permitted uses of Trade Licences
a. A motor trader may use the trade licence on mechanically
propelled vehicles only if they are temporarily in their
possession in the course of their business as a motor trader.
A motor trader who is a manufacturer may also use the
licence on a vehicle kept solely for research and development
purposes or on vehicles, which are from time to time,
submitted to them for testing by other manufacturers.
b. A vehicle tester may use the trade licence only on vehicles
submitted to them for testing (including the vehicles trailer,
its accessories or equipment).
c. Trade licences must be used only for the particular business
purposes for which they were issued.
These may include:
• Test or trial of a vehicle, its accessories or equipment during
or immediately after construction, modification or repair;
etc...
