MK Indy R spring rates for slicks
MikeCapon - 24/4/14 at 12:43 PM

Hi all,

A colleague over here has an MK Indy R which he uses 100% for circuit. Having fitted slicks the can now rolls a great deal and is bottoming (tyres touching rear guards). Does anyone have any experience or recomnendations re spring rates? The power unit is a 1300 Hayabusa...

TIA

Mike

For roll I would recommend sway bars, for Springs I have not reached this point yet, but my plan is to work with the professionals. Plan is to call KW or one of those guys, give them your corner weights and have them spec it out.

Would be interested in what everyone else runs. Stock from MK its 300 front, 275 rear. Problem is if you up the springs too much the rear will just slide.

also interested in this
currently have 200s on the rear and unknown on the front

i guess i need stiffer!

feels like im going to tip over when cornering hard!

Couple weekends ago I bottomed out. In the midst of a corner I hit a bump and that did it. Apart from that, it felt good. Yes the back slides a little like any other 7, but was consistent and controllable. I do not see myself going stiffer, but definitely buying better shocks and adding sway bars to the front and a small one to the rear to balance the car out.

Before I can get accurate estimates from the spring and shock guys though, I need to know the corner weights.

for mine i believe the fronts were ~128 each and the rears ~160 and ~190, with driver

total car weight without drive is 520kg, 90kg for me +gear
