Chaps,
Firstly I built a Tiger S6 but not the Avon that I now own, so sorry for the possibly silly questions!
I need to swap the hub carrier on my Avon and think that I can do this by removing the hub/drive shaft nut, then the 4 cap head bolts that hold the
hub, back plate etc to the carrier?
1) Is this correct?
2) When I put it back together do I need to torque up the 4 cap heads (if so, to what?)
3) I think the drive shaft nut has to be torqued to 250nm, can anyone confirm.
4) Will I need some kind of puller to get it all apart?
5) Anything else that might help make it an easier job?
I then had it suggested that I could possibly take the hub carrier off the back side? i.e. undo the four bolts and then take the hub carrier back over
the driveshaft (will it fit) and take it off over the diff end of the drive shaft?
If so, if I have the push in drive shafts, do they litterally just push in? Can I just pull them out (will oil go everywhere?) and if I do pull them
out how do I push them in tightly when I put it back together?
Sorry, for the possibly silly questions but I have no manual and this is my first attempt at looking at it!!
Thanks in advance.
Mark.
If you undo the 4 bolts holding the hub carrier and brake backplate (drums on mine), then take off the suspension arm bolts it should come off the
front.I didn't undo the outer drivesheft nut at all!
hope this helps.
Cool, so the drive shaft just pushes into the back of the hub? which is then held in place by the four bolts when they are done up?
It sounds like it should be simple?
Famous last words!
PS - when I do the four bolts back up, how tight do they need to be, is there a torque setting or just f' tight.

I think I did mine F-IN TIGHT!
The drive shaft does not push into the hub, it is held in the hub by the large nut on the outside but if you remove the 4 bolts as said earlier the whole lot will come off the back of the upright.
Not going well, new hub in and so is drive shaft, problem is the wishbone hits the backplate of the drum and the holes don't line up by about
1mm!
So close but just won't go! Anyone had similar and a fix for it?
The brake backplate is on the right way up isn't it?
I think that makes a difference, it was a long while since I done mine!
Yeah the car was on the road so the back plate was fitted to the old hub and I left the flexi brake line and handbrake cable in, so it can only go on
the way it came off - Seems to be Tiger tollerances!
The only thing I can think is to grind a hole into the back plate for the wishbone to fit into as it only need 1-2mm
