Seasons Greetings!
I'm hoping somebody can offer some advice on rear wheel size for an Avon.
I've got independent rear end with drum brakes and am hoping to fit some 8 x 13 Compomotive Cxr's, which an offset of 20 that are currently
for sale.
I'm away for Xmas so unable to measure the car but having looked back on this forum people seem to suggest that standard sierra rear wheels need
a minimum of ET35 as otherwise they hit the uprights. As I'm assuming these sierra wheels would be around 5" diameter, the online calculator
which I've used before suggests that 8" rims would protrude 20mm more into the centre of the car and therefore clash with the uprights.
I hope this makes sense, and just wanted to make sure I'm not wildly out with my calculations as the wheels would be ideal for what I want.
Has anyone else on here used wide 13" rear wheels on an Avon? I can't go any larger in diameter but need them to be wide.
Have a play with this as I don't think they will protrude 20mm more into the centre. Admittedly it depends on the original wheel size.

Thank you smoking frog, that is an excellent tool and far better than the one I was using.
if your using Tigers uprights you wont get 13's to fit. I think the very smallest wheel would be 14" at a push as well!!
