Cant seem to get mine to fit according to the book in respect of the 330 from side and 320 to the other. My engine sits about 30mm short from the
alternator side. Even with that the mount is touching on of the chassis uprights. Unless i chop the engine mount down i cant see me getting it.
I had problems with the alternator and have now decided to get a new LRA101 and so I shall leave the final drilling until I get it. Basically what has
everyonbe else found?
Also what have you had to do in terms of mounting brackets for the alternator, grinding etc
Cheers
Rob
i sat my engine in the middle of the chassis and level.
if its of any help you can come over to sunny burwell and have a look at one in situ and take all the measurements you want.just drop me a u2u and ill give you some directions
just to clarify... are you trying to fit a pinto ?
If so are you sure you have the mounts on the correct sides (they are quite different) ?
Panic over guys. It turns out the measurement of 320-310 is to the centre of the bottom pulley but I found this out from someone on the list and not
from tiger. All I got was "I havent fitted one of those on an avon " that included Richard in London.
It now sits sweetly in the engine bay and I only had to square off one of the mounts.
Next problem will be the alternator. Looks like Ive got a lot og grinding to be done
Thanks for your help and offers guys
Cheers
Rob
Lucas LRA101 is the way to go.
Also, cut 10mm of each alternator mounting post on the engine block and butcher the bracket a bit.
See my website for pics.
