I'm going out this weekend to start collecting donor parts,
This is what I think I'm looking for for starters, please let me know of other bits and bobs I will need
Sierra parts
Steering coloumn with stalks and key etc
Differential, driveshafts, brake assys
handbrake lever
Type 9 gearbox
Zetec 2.0 probably, but still not decided
What else should I remove from Sierra
Cortina uprights
Mk2 escort rack but will probably buy new
Anything else for now?
Not sure on Avon but Roadster you'd also need front uprights, calipers and brake MC
Ignore upright bits...

My list sounds like I'm pretty much there then, brakes I was thinking of buying new and same with master cylinder
While I think about it, the sierra steering wheel may be useful for the IVA.
And a crappy set of build wheels!

I think I left the Sierra steering wheel on my first locost for sva, will I have issues with after market wheels for iva then?
Only if they don't conform to minimum radias requirements or padding. The larger sierra steering wheel will give you a large exemption area
behind as well.
Depends on your after market wheel (and the tester on the day)
don't forget to get proper receipts for the parts, and proof of age of engine if possible.
I guess you will be getting a Q reg?
It looks like it may be a Q plate, unless I can find a single donor vehicle
If I was to try to obtain a current year reg, what can I get away with not being new?, what can I get reconditioned?
One major part can be recondishioned i.e gearbox, the rest new.
With your donor list a new plate wouldn't be possible. You're looking at a Q. You can get an age related plate if you can get hold of a v5
and two major parts from that car...
