I have a small piece of rubber pipe from the tank to a filter at the back then a solid pipe from the rear filter all the way down the tranny tunnel to the mechanical pump then a rubber pipe from the mechanical pump to the filter/regulator and another rubber pipe from the otherside of the filter/regulator to both carbs.
Hope that makes sense.

I`m doing the same as you (Avon,Pinto and Webers) all I have done different is add in a filter on top of the tank in the outlet.

I built a 2l Stage 2 tuned kit a few years back and TBH the standard mechanical fuel pump may not be upto the job if your using twin 40s or 45s, at least. I used a facet electric fuel pump mounted on the rear bulkhead with an inline pressure regulator near to the carbs. It seemed to work very well.

what i have got is ass follows:tank rubber pipe onto copper pipe running
into the engine bay then more rubber pipe
into fuel filter more rubber pipe m/pump
more rubber pipe to the carbs. is there anything i have not got ?

That sound fine, but I would put the fuel filter at the back just after the tank. My Tiger supplied tank has had some severe internal rusting and it's much easier to clean the filter at the back than to try and clean out a long length of copper pipe as well.
I would get a regulator as well after the pump - just to keep the carbs happy, but it should be ok without one.
Regarding the mechnical fuel pump - they are good for 160bhp and I haven't had any problems running my 2ltr with fast cam on twin 45's and a track day under my belt as well.
Hope that helps,
