Hi all.
Is anyone trying to follow the Avon book to build their chassis?
There are a few differences between the schematics and the pictures.
Ex:
* driver’s side, footwell: there is no triangulation in the drawings but there is one, supporting the pedal box support in the pictures
* transmission tunnel, driver's side, upper front: drawings: 3 tubes, pictures, 2 tubes.
Anyone found anything else?

If you take a good look at the chassis pics you will also notice that this was an unfinished chassis with some of the welds missing, perhaps it was rushed for the publishers...
The update on Veloce website has gone!!!
anyone know of another?

GGGRRRRRRRR
you and me both,
Ok, im now 4.5 hours into my chassis, bottom tacked and top rails clamped into position, run out of argoshield!!!
christ mate how big is your gas bottle? i have said this before if you are using a standard size bottle (about 5foot high) you could weld dozens of chassis, if your gas flow is to high then all you are doing is wasting gas and inhaling loads of it too, if you are using one of these tiny things that halfords sell i would suggest you throw it away and get a proper bottle you can get them in a size (can't remember the code) about 3 foot tall that will have plenty of gas in it to do all your welding on this project and probably your next as well and in the long run works out a lot cheaper...best of luck.
I do have a big bottle, we use it at work and no one said it was low! very frustrating
e-mailed veloce and they sent me the new link and it works...
