RE: Ignition wiring
Fishface - 9/3/05 at 01:45 PM

Im struggling with the steering column wiring. I have followed the spreadsheet which works fine but am stuck with the wiring for the ignition. Does anyone have any photos or can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Rob

Ive been looking at the mytigeravon website as its the best picture I can find and am wondering if im missing some wiring.
I am only using the tiger loom and a steering column which has the plastic original connectors removed. I have then plugged in the connecotrs from the loom as per the spreadsheet. Should I have some kind of part harness from the sierra I should be using?

Thanks again

Rob

Not got this far yet myself but I think you need a part of the engine harness from the donor according to what engine you are fitting.....

A lot of the original loom/connectors on the steering column are not needed. Remember, the light switch will be on the dash etc,.This will reduce the number of connectors considerably. The ignition wires are more straightforward since there's fewer. I'll photograph mine this weekend if its a help.

Sorry, engine wise, you need the small loom from the Black box.
From this loom you will need to make connections to the coil and ignition feed.
Search electrics section for plenty of details on pinto/avon

I've got the wiring section from my Xtreme build if that's of any use. It is quite comprehensive regarding the column switches and the black box wiring.

If you want a copy let me know and I'll scan some pictures in the morning. I can post a copy if you wish. No probs.

Cheers
Michael

thanks for all your help that it would all be grateful received. On a point of the black box, im actually not using it as I am using an alton dizzy with an ignitor so dont have any wiring. I guess this may complicate it further.

Thanks
