Got my engine out of my Mr2 and am starting to think of how to get fuel to it.
I have had a look in the archive regarding swirl pots... Lost on me.
Does anyone supply a kit of parts?
Basically I think i need... Low pressure fuel pump, (I have a tank supplied by tiger), Swirl pot, High pressure fuel pump, and supply return lines
running down the transmission tunnel.
I get lost in the detail of what connectors, which pump/s, which swirl pot and what fuel line I need and where I can buy them.
Anyone point me in a direction.
Did phone tiger and thay can supply me some parts but its coming in a £400 which includes a new tank from an R6...

BTW,
in second example, the low pressure lift pump fills the swirlpot with petrol
This then feeds the injection pump which provides the fuel directly to the engine.
Swirlpot is essential because injection pumps don't like running dry due to fuel surge on cornering etc.

your first suggestion seems the simplest. I had kinda discounted using the fuel bits from the MR2. But now you mention it they are probably best
suited to match my engine and they are lying in the drive. Will have another look see tomorrow.
From memory there was an inch diameter foot long length of pipe with the ends squashed and some lengths of fuel pipe coming out. I guess this might
be its swirl pot... Will take a photo and post. Might do the same so I can identify the regulator. Fairly sure i can find the pump and filter.
where did you get your fuel line and connectors from?
You can get a swirl pot made up quite cheaply.
Will require tig welded aluminium.

Does the swirl pot got at the rear of the car near the tank or the front near the near the engine?
swirlpot can happily be mounted at the rear of the car. I've spent today running my fuel lines and putting double flares on the end of screwfix
8mm microbore copper pipe. use push fit fittings with hose finishers, much cheaper than all the JIC screw on connectors. 2ltr cavaliers have a good
bosch injection pump if you don't have one from the donor. think auto are the people for all the fittings.

where did you get your fuel line and connectors from?
Can also recommend Think Auto. I took my HP pump in there and said "I want a new connector for this, please" and they took it away and
fitted one on the spot.
(originally wasn't suitable to put host onto - was totally missing an outlet connector)

Ned, the diagram is spot on. Never thought of screfix for pipe. I guess the 8mm copper is for house radiators? Is it up to the job. Have you also
some pics too? Not sure what a double flange is?
I had a look at the MR2 pump and think it is an internal pump so guess thats not much use to me unles I try and fit it into the tiger tank...
