Has anyone fitted clip on shoulder straps to an Avon, Our Racer is nearly finished but we cant seem to find any eye bolts with thread long enough to go through the crossmember behind the seat, fro memory the box section is 2" deep so would need an eye bolt with a 2 1/2" thread to give enough to tighten onto. I have managed to find one lying around the workshop but everyone i talk to seems to think that 2" is the maximum length made?????

Could you use an M12 eye nut and put a bolt into it from underneath?

Hi 2" is the longest iv'e seen also . You will have to swap to a bolt in type harness . And is there a welded in tube through the 2" crossmember .

yep there is a piece of tube welded in, dont know how using an eye nut would go down with the scrutineers? 2 1/2" definatley exist, ive got one, but only 1 sob!

If the slot in the harness bracket is 3" which according to the description it is, then this bolt isn't far short of 3" either.
