I have an E1 Cat and the water pump needs changing. To do that looks simple enough (although the red mastick may be another story).

However, to pull the water pump out and away from the engine it looks as though the shocks are in the way - can anyone else with a Cat confirm?

If I do need to get the shocks off what is the best way without breaking the car or me

I would imagine that putting the front on stands and then jacking the wheel up just enough to take the weight, undo each spax and then lower/raise the jack to allow me to take it out?

well at least it didnt leave ya next to the road scratchin your head....
jack the front up put it on tressles..remove the top and bottom bolts of the shocks....if the shocks are tight you will need a "C" spanner to releve the tension ..but remember where the tension whel is so you can put it back in the same place....then do ya jobbie..then reverse the order of things

Thanks, does anyone know how much water a pinto will need to fill it back up on a Tiger E1 - just trying to work out how much coolant to put back in once I actually get a new pump on.
