OZ and my kit HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gotta move to oz in the next few weeks....what do i do with my kit car....pack it up in little boxes and rebuild as a new kit in oz under oz rules and regs....
finnish it here and export it there?
any ideas welcome please

I believe that the Oz rules require the chassis to be inspected & tested before it's built up with body panels etc.

I would guess that it would be cheaper and easier to sell it over here, and start afresh in Oz. However, you could ask on the Locost Oz site for advice.

As for taking your car over there, it would probably be easiest to send it in a container - probably cheaper than you expect - but still bl**dy expensive.

I'm doing just this in the next 1 to 2 years.
The only way you will be able to export it to oz is to finish it here and register it in your name for a minimum of 1 year.
You can then import it into oz as a personal import.
Importing it any other way is a nightmare.
You are only allowed to do this for 1 car.
You would have to pay duty on the value of the vehicle when entering Australia.
If you import it as a part built vehicle you will come across all sorts of problems.
Chassis in Aus have to be torsion tested and inspected by a qualified engineer.
There have been instances of the Aus authorities accepting stress test results from at least 2 manufacturers these being GTS and Leuago.
With regards to shipping expect to pay around Ģ1000 to ship it in a "sole use" container as a finished car.

i have a 20 cubic meter space available paid for buy new work company so that helps a lot.....but hmmmm all these other offers.....i see a lot of locosters circling ubove.....almost like vultures but nicer!!!!!he he he

I would just take it with you, but offcourse in parts...

Sow only the bare chasis..

The rest i would just send it to you from the UK..

One package every week...

Just look what UPS/DHL charges to do it..
offcourse secured because South Africa is a matter of money to have something done...

Why on earth do you want to go there.

It's too hot, no ozone and full of people who keep telling you they're direct descendants from people on first boat, second boat etc etc.

Oh yeah and they don't have enough rain

I went there once. Got severely sun burnt in FIFTEEN MINUTES. How rubbish is that.

Geez, you lot talk a load of uninformed bollocks!!

His car is worth at least 2-3 times as much in Aus as it is here. In one piece or in many pieces.

The Aus engineering process is not the nightmare that people make out, and could be implemented here before long.

I've u2u'd the gent with some words of first hand experience.
