Hi All,

Sorry if i am in the wrong place. I have been looking at getting a Kit Car after writting off my motorbike and have come up with favorites which include Westfield - sorry to swear.... and the Tiger. Now i like both the Super Six and the E1 but what i want to know are the differences. And why you guys have choosen them over some of the other makes.

I have learnt allot but still much to learn before i can get what i am looking for. It will be used Sunny days only, weekend fun and possibly the odd track day. Any advice greatly received.

Cheers
D

Personally I'm doing a scratch build but I think if I were to buy a kit I would have to make a difficult desion between MK and MNR, both seem to be really popular on here and having spoke to owners all of them seem really happy with both the quality of the kits and the after care from both suppliers.

Doesn't seem to be that many tiger super 6's on here but maybe I just haven't spotted them yet. Seems to be a few Tiger Avons built from the book however.

Just my 2 pence worth.

Rich

Now i was under the impression that bike engines were better for tracks and car engines for road. I think that i have decided on the car engine, from a reliability point of view, the wife is going to drive it too and will need reverse, yes i know you can get it fitted.

Correct me if i am wrong, like i say still learning....

If i was doing another id build the MNR vortex with a 2litre zetec. If i had the money itd be a 2.1 zetec turbo.

I like how the MNR's sit on the road..

Just finished an Indy. If i were to build another one it would be a Mac#1or an MNR.

Buy an MK Indy , just as good as a Tiger if not better, but the best bit is that they are a tad cheeper , so more dosh for the engine and brakes (the importent bits) , mine drives like a dream and its only got an old pinto.

Furious D,
I have a Super Six with a Toyota 4A-GE engine in it. I love the engine but if i was getting another it probably wouldn't be a Tiger. To answer your initial question the six is stronger, shorter, better looking(IMHO) and more expensive than the Cat. It also has the live axle where as the Cat has the whole of the sierra back end, which causes it to be longer and againIMHO ugly!? Beware the six is very narrow so if you are big boned check you can get in it. You can get the R6 which is the same as the S6 but with a de-dion axle.

After looking at some of the so called locosts e.g. MNR, MK etc etc i think they may be next on the list but not with a bike engine...i will stick to the 4A-GE.

If its your first kit then you cant go far wrong with a mac#1. Well engineered and assemble very well indeed. For those rare moments where you might get stuck they are always on hand for priceless assistance.

Open day 17th Sept - well worth a look.
