just fitting the gauges to my dash. Cant find a set of wires to feed the volts gauge in My tiger loom. Is it ok to just supply it with a 12V supply from somewhere else to give a reading. Its prpbably just a stupid question as I guess it is just a voltmeter?

Anything with a switched 12v supply will do fine, unless of course you want it to show the voltage even when the battery is off.
