Lobro's and splined shafts

Hi all

has anyone on here removed the lobro flanges on the diff and replaced the shafts with the push in spline type...do they fit

cheers mark

Yes they are interchangeable, there's a big circlip that just holds the lobro in the diff from the inside, remove this, and the lobro just slips out,you can then just slide the push in shaft into the diff, hardest job is removing the cover on the rear of the diff, the trick is put the diff in a big vice to remove the casing bolts

i was hoping to leave the diff in the car paul...oh well as long as they change so i get a lighter back end that'll do me

cheers mark

You should have no problem removing the casing bolts if the diff is still in the car Mark, its just that trying to get them out with the diff rolling around the garage floor that can be difficult

Just one word of caution, if the diff with the lobros is an LSD, the push in shafts wont fit (unless of course it's also an LSD) LSD shafts are different lengths.

...that' buggerd it
when you say dont fit are they a different spline or is it just the length waders???
