One step forward two steps back!
A while back I posted about the engine alignment problems. I found that the engine leaned over to the drivers side.
I ended up making my own engine mount for one side 30mm taller. this made the engine sit lovely and level BUT too high for the bonnet! So I have
removed the homemade mount and fitted the tiger standard one. now the engine is canted over so far that the gear lever extension is hard up against
the tunnel structure....
before anyone says it - the mounts can only go one way round and I have the rubber mount on the side that needs raising.
Basically I need to either replace the 40mm mount with one about 20mm high or make a new passengers side mount..... bugger
and yes I checked the mount dimensions against the book and they seem close enough to correct...
mine uses 40mm rubber and 20mm rubber. engine sits upright at the correct height. Home made mounts following tiger book measurements
Don't know about avon but on my striker I used to use a 20mm one side and a 40mm the other.
Ben.
I had to make new mounts and spacers with rubber and nylon.
I think I had 10mm on one side and can't remember what I had on the other.
Pat...
