zetec oil sump
jimbona2 - 25/4/07 at 11:24 AM

anyone know where I can get my sump modified. tiger's about £200 although new, and purpose built it seems like a load of money! This is my oil at the moment Rescued attachment P7310137.jpg

The sump in your picture looks like one from a Mondeo.
A shallower standard sump, which I use, is one from a 1.6 or 1.8 Escort Zetec engine. vintage 1992-95.

you could use a shortbread tin instead of the roses one!

You could try Scholar they do a shortened sump, it's well baffled and is a bit cheaper than Tiger's
http://www.scholarengines.co.uk/Lowline%20sump.htm
and includes a shortened pickup.

I don't think that you will get away with an escort sump, as even that was too deep in my Cat.

thanks although when you include the p&p it works out the same as tiger

Check to see if Tiger's sump includes a modified pickup and if it is baffled. I don't think it does. and Scolar (Just north of Stowmarket) are about a similar distance from you as Tiger

tiger do modify the pickup included within the price. you simply have to send them the bit and then they'll send the sump and the correct pickup down as one.

you saying go with Scholar? are they modified sumps or purpose built? cheers

Schrodinger - 26/4/07 at 06:15 PM

They are modified exchange units. as per the website but are good quality and nice people to deal with.

Where did you find the metal oil pickup? It seems impossible to find a modified one without having te buy the expensive sump. Does somebody know the ford part number of the metal version I can use?

cheers,
