Following on from Ian posting, will stainless steel button head A2 screws be acceptable to bolt down the roll bar with the SVA tester and should they be sleeved through the box section?

As my chassis is an early one, the upper rear shock mounting brackets are higher than on later chassis'.
Thus there is not enough clearance to get a nut between them and the box section to secure the foremost rollbar bolts.
I have placed the nuts inside the box section and bolted through the upper face of the box section only.
If your bolts pass completely through the box section then you would need to use crush tubes.
I believe that the minimum requirement is for 8.8 grade high tensile bolts.
I've used 12.9 grade cap-headed bolts.
Hopefully, that'll satisfy Mr SVA when the time comes.

Andy.

Thanks for that Andy, but is a roll bar part of the SVA test or is it only part of the test when it is fitted and are A2 s/s screws bolted through the box section with a crush tube OK. I understand that A2 s/s is not as strong as 8.8 bolts.
