I've assembled the rear uprights and when tightening the upper bolt on the upright the bracket on the top of the wishbone bends in, i've got
the full kit from tiger but can't find a spacer.... do i need to machine one up?

washer?
are you saying that is the bolt in the middle and not a piece of tube?
i know it needs a washer its only loosly assembled, what i want to know is should the kit come with a spare piece of tube/ spacer to stop it bending in or do i need to make one up
Hi,
Looking at your photo. Yes you will need a crush tube for the middle section.
You'll not tighten the bolt without one.

During the build you'll find out that you will be looking for a lot of other parts...
But that's part of the game, and it always gives satisfaction when you find a cheap solution to a problem.
And to build an Avon you do need some imagination.

a short length of aluminium tubing should do the trick
It caught me out as well I used some washers. I also bought some longer bolts. As there was barely a thread showing. Yours looks short too in the
picture.
Hope this helps

I may be wong but cant you just use two bolts instead of that one wich goes right through???
you prob could use 2 bolts but it wouldn't be as strong.... i'll get some tube from somewhere i think...... cheers guys
I used stainless steel tube which I obtained from a boat yard.

Clearly I'm no expert on suspension design or shear loads but isn't that a 'kin daft way of doing it?
Why have twin bushes then connect them to only one side of the bracket each.
Might aswell have only one bush in the style of MK might you not?
But what do I know!!!
Cheers,
James
Yeah I'm not all that impressed by that design either, a bit pointless plus the MK version is adjustable for camber.
Nice welds though

yup - I used a length of stainless tube from B&Q....
you will also need to pack out the lower inboard rose joints with washers - I have set mine to the position that they naturally wanted to sit but they
may need adjusting later....
