Ride height, ground clearance
edspurrier - 24/5/08 at 03:06 PM

Almost finished.... But not sure where to set the ride height or the front suspension. At the moment when the car's empty the track rod arms are level and the chassis is about 4r" off the ground - but thre;s only about 1 1/2 inches of clearance under the bellhousing. Short sump so plenty of room there.

Is that how it's supposed to be? Would have expedcted a bit more room for bumpy roads!

Thanks
Ed

1 1/2 inches of clearance under the bellhousing

My lowest point ( sump ) has 3-4 inches and I think that is too close at times.

If you try driving it on the road you will need a new bellhousing within a week!

my car's going to end up being about 90mm (whatever that is in inches)

You might need to rethink your engine mounts if you've only got 35mm under your bellhousing

75mm clearance is cutting it a bit fine.
90mm is what I run at the moment and I have to take it very carefully over speed bumps...

I changes engine rubber supports with same taller, now sump is 75 mm from ground I am still not happy.
