Hub adaptors for Viva axles.
po79 - 2/12/09 at 06:47 PM

Evening all,

I'm looking for someone who supplies/makes wheels hub adapters to change my wheel PCD from 4 inch (viva/mini size) to 4x100 or 4x108.

I don't like wobble nuts and don't want to start redrilling the wheel hubs.

The problem with the 4 inch PCD is its very restrictive for after market alloys and most only go to 13 rims. All other PCD sized alloys are alot cheaper too (secondhand).

Cheers,

Po79.

13" wheels are the only true size though...

Everything else is wrong.

P.S. The thing on the left has Viva hubs too.

Flak Monkey is the guy for this job (he's on here)

IIRC the viva used the same PCD as the early BMW 3 series, may open up some more opportunities.

3 series is 100mm, Viva is 4" or 101.8mm.

They really don't fit.
Ask me how I know

Experience always beats theory, maybe it was Chevette...

Viva = 4x4" (101.6), Chevette = 4x100.

I ran Mini (4x101.6) wheels on my Polo (4x100) for a while with no problems. Couldn't recommend it though... i have heard of failures!

Chevette is indeed 4x100mm.

The wheels I tried were Revolutions with sleeve nuts. Tolerance was nada, so 3 out of 4 nuts was the most you could get on.

Thanks for the replies,

I have thought about using 100mm PCD wheels like the BMW and Chevette etc but have heard to many stories about stud failure even when using wobble nuts or bolts.

I'll try to drop this Flak Monkey fellow a PM and see if he can help.

I'm suprised there is no off the shelf hub adapters available though. If I can get some made I might look in to whether anyone from the owners clubs might buy some too to help spread the costs.

Speak to one of the grass racer manufacturers.

Some of those still use Viva uprights - because they're better....

They may have 4x100mm hubs.
