I am at the design/thinking it through stage on my next project and want to build a car with a full screen but nut the flat se7en type screen.
I am thinking of using a standard screen something like a Seat Leon, how would you make the screen surround?
My thoughts are to either take a mould from the original car and work from there or from a screen.
Any other thoughts?
How about mgf, it is made fron high tensile steel, offer some protection, and comes complete with surround, and plastic inner bits

It doesn't bolt to unfortunately, its integral.
But there are load of shells out there, so it would just be a case of cutting one off, and fabricating a bracket of each side.
I may be cutting the one off mine as i prefer the aeroscreen look.
not sure if this would be any easier that using one from another car.
How about other lttle 2 seaters? mx5 or alike.
What width do you need?

ATM I am only at the stage of thinking "How To".
Your idea of cutting the screen surround off another 2 seater is one way. I was thinking of making the surround part of the bodyshell as I am not
looking at a se7en style body/wings.
I don't therefore have any thoughts as to dimensions yet.
Why not use an Elise screen? The surround is integral to the glass.
