Renewal Quotes
spdpug98 - 5/5/11 at 07:44 AM

I did post this on the bottom of one of the historic threads but thought I would start a new one!

I am going through the usual annual renewal quote process after getting my renewal cost from Adrian Flux.

I know that there are a good few people on here who seem to be able to get their BEC insurance for less than £200 sometimes even less, whereas I have not once had a quote for less than £250 for the last few years - how are you guys doing it as I think I am using the same Insurers

My details are: 37 years old, full no claims, good postcode and kept in locked garage, 5000miles, breakdown cover, agreed value of £12k, fully comp

The quotes I have so far are:

AF - £295
Frank Pickles - £540
Footman James - £407 (exc breakdown)
Sureterm - Waiting for their costs but usually more than AF

How do you all get such low quotes, do you think it could be my agreed value making the premiums high (although I don't think £295 is too expensive - but don't tell AF!)

JUST HAD THE SAME PROBLEM usually with sureterm at £250 but this year £370 rang around and this is the cheapest i can get ,they all are telling me its a bike engine that tops it up.on the other hand my cobra rep came down £50 whitch is now the cheapest it has being in six year.........i cannot work it out...

Say you have a cheaper quote and ask for a discount!

Try David Auden / Rally Car Insurance - they provide an excellent service and don't just insure rally cars!

I was thinking of telling AF that I have a cheaper quote, but I don't actually think that £250ish is that expensive for the a car with the performance that they have etc, it just always suprises me that I can't get anywhere near the £80/£100 quotes people say they have paid

Will try Rally Car Insurance too
