Anybody going to the above track day? myself and the usual crowd are going, possibly camping the night before too

There will be a hell of a lot of kits travelling to blyton park on the 10th July for the sprint weekend on the 11th and 12th so may not be overly busy with kits!

thats good news for me lol

hopefully nice and quiet with good weather

bigfoot4616 - 12/7/15 at 08:21 PM

well the weather was good, wasn't so quiet though but still enjoyed the day. was plenty of sevens there and a few other quick cars to chase.

i assume yours was the all white one? can't remember if i came across it on track or not.

Is Anglessey pretty noise tolerant, being in the middle of nowhere? I'm tempted to book a day in September but haven't taken the car anywhere with drive by limits yet. It'll definitely pass the static, but haven't a clue what is 'loud' or 'quiet' in terms of drive by limits.

bigfoot4616 - 12/7/15 at 09:57 PM

its meant to be 105db but i've never yet been tested there. also never heard of there being a drive by meter.
i would of thought your car would have to be very loud to have any issues. mine isn't quiet and usually comes in about 102/103db static and i never have drive by noise issues on 105db days.

bit of vid from thursday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFse3MDUj4A

We always get tested there at sprints. As for drive by testing I'm sure they will have somewhere.

We had a very good day. Weather couldn't have been better!

I took a few pics uploaded here:

And some vid from the day. Last bit is chasing a very quick red van!

I would guess at a 3.54 tranX LSD.

bigfoot4616 - 13/7/15 at 08:12 PM

yep, andy's spot on

It did at Anglesey. I had a bad start to the day. Before I got on track a recently fitted oil cooler hose sprung a leak. The only fix was to remove the whole lot including the sandwich plate and the accusump I've been running.
So, I spent all day doing short sessions as the oil gets very hot, and watching that bloody light in the corners. When it lit I basically tried to ease my line and keep off the throttle. (It's a high pressure switch, so we're not at zero oil pressure when it's lit)

Cooler and accusump is all re-plumbed in again, will see how it does at Donington this Sunday.

how they compare to my 3.64 ford LSD

bigfoot4616 - 14/7/15 at 10:40 PM

no idea the tranX is the only LSD i have experience of in this car but i do know that it transformed the car from when it had an open diff.
with a 3.64 i might just have been running out of revs at anglesey, not sure how different that is from a 3.54, but that's dependent on tyre size.
