Guys
Please can you post pictures of your steering mounted or near steering mounted BEC gear change mechanisms?
I'm particularly interested in cable operated systems for a midi set-up but I would like to see all for inspiration and to plagiarise the good
ideas!
Thanks
Hi, check in my photo archive, it is an MNR paddle system and works a treat.

You may have seen these pics before but you did ask.....
We have a titanium paddle shift on our Phoenix. All our own work.
I do all the CNC work and Eldon does the welding.
The paddle locates to the top of the steering column, again home-made, via rose joints.
The steering column itself features needle rollers, top and bottom. Column mounts are CNC made.
It's a complete and utter one-off and hardly cost a penny. The materials come from the scrap bin and the Cincinnatti Lancer milling machine comes
courtesy of my employer.
OTT according to some but admired by others. You can't win 'em all!
Pay particular attention to the cable mounting brackets when you get to that stage. They need to be as rigid as possible. I've seen some
manufacturer supplied brackets that were way too flimsy.
The upper cable bracket and the upper column mount on our car are located by bolts that pass up through tubes that are welded into the chassis rail.
They are immensely strong.
The lower cable bracket is fabricated titanium.
All very time consuming but we like the end result.
The column mounted bracket in the last pic now has the instrument binnacle welded to it.
Are you inspired yet??
Geoff & Eldon.
