I'm not sure this is the right forum but here goes...
I've got a bigger downpipe to fit to my turbo mx5. The tight radius of the downpipe means I need to fit a stud into the turbo and fit the
downpipe with a nut instead of the bolt.
Looking about none of the manifold studs i've seen on ebay and namrick look suitable as I need the thread roughly equal at each end i.e. 15mm
thread, 5mm blank then 15mm thread.
I've been looking at other solutions like grub screws. They come in m8x35 and a variety of materials from BZNP, 304, 316.

The rest of the bolts are 304, will this be my best option?
will red loctite be strong enough to stop them undoing and deal with the heat from the turbo?
Any other issues I may have overlooked or other suppliers worth considering? Corrosion between the manifold and bolt, expansion rates etc?
Cheers,
Rob
I got some longer studs (8mm) from ebay. 25mm i think.
Replaced all the odd sizes for M8 and M10 on the block.
45mm in fact.

thats the sort of thing i've been looking at but 35mm seems to be the smallest length available.
The turbo flange is about 15mm. The downpipe flange is 9mm. The gap between the downpipe flange and the downpipe tube is 12mm.
All the 35mm ons have ~8mm thread on one end and 18mm on t'other which means it would only thread halfway into the turbo flange before bottoming
out and then the stud would hit the pipe before the flange nips up.
Here's a quick photo to help explain,
Stop tying yourself in knots -----------Just cut down a long 8mm stainless steel bolt (set screw) Screw on a nut as guide when cutting , round off the top with a file and clean up the threads with a hex die. Job done.
That's a bit of a restrictive design for a turbo outlet.
